How did Learn-a-lot Publications begin?
Hi, I'm Jan McDonald.
Having designed hundreds of hands-on activities and booklets
for myself and my colleagues for over 20 years, I decided to publish. I
used my experience as a classroom teacher to design
materials that I thought would be helpful for other
teachers, too!
The Series is "in progress" so look for
additions in the future!
Here
are some of the underlying features I thought were
important. Materials:

that had complete sets of skill-building
activities.
* that used approved teaching techniques,
supported by research.
*
that are affordable, effective tools and are
convenient to use.
I try to instill a love of reading in my students and to create a world of
wonder through books. I believe that children:
*
need a solid foundation in phonemic awareness.
* should have lots of opportunities to read, read,
read.
