The Consonant Blends and O Sounds Book has dozens of activities with several formats so students are always motivated. The book includes all the blends and o sounds so teachers can be sure their students are learning all the sounds.  The students love the fun pictures that go with the skills.

Formats used:

1. My Cute Picture Match-Up Games are Sorting Games for Blends and O Sounds that sort the words under the correct sound. There are two cartoons at the top for fun. This multi-sensory approach to learning new words helps reinforce the sounds.

2. My Fun Little Sorting Ladders are Blending Sorting Games that use a different format to sort the sounds under the correct sound. The students have fun learning some of the trickier phonics sounds as they "play" these little games. The students practice their sorting and classifying skills, too.

3. Criss Cross Puzzles teach the O sound words with the Al/Au/Aw/Wa sounds. Scan along the lines of Xs and Os and find the hidden word.  Students love criss-cross puzzles and these are made so words are easy to find and easy to read.

4. My Sight Word Pattern Book is an O Sound booklet that the teacher photocopies for the student. The phonograms at the top and the sight words below are patterned in sentences. The repetition helps the students learn both their sounds and the new sight word vocabulary. They practice oral reading with the words in context.

Students learn a lot and have fun, too!
